Fred Kerley has expressed admiration for Africa's fastest man following the powerful quote he shared on his social media on Thursday.

Former world 100m champion Fred Kerley is in awe of the progress Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has made and how he continues to make an impact in the world of sprints.

Omanyala shared a tweet on X (Twitter), expressing that his goal is not to impress anyone or be in competition with anyone but he just wants to change the narrative.

The 28-year-old added that in life, there are two options and one is to either embrace the change and grow with it or step back to avoid confrontations.

“We come from humble families, old houses, and small towns with sad stories. We are not hustling to impress or be in competition with anyone.

“I just want to change the storyline and the fights that were never won. In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety,” Omanyala said in the tweet.

Kerley, the American, seemed to be impressed by Omanyala’s growth on and off the track, and from his comment, he seems to be an ardent follower of Omanyala. On top of other comments, Kerley added his, saying: “Respect.”

Other fans also commented on Omanyala’s post, with Hellen Mutuga saying: “Food for thought for many...wise words!” Another, Vince Leo, added a comment saying: “It’s your season, brother!”
