Fred Kerley has fired warning shots at his opponents Noah Lyles, Ferdinand Omanyala and co as he plans to upgrade his 100m Olympic silver medal to gold at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Former World 100m champion Fred Kerley has fired warning shots at Noah Lyles and other 100m title contenders ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

After an impressive season opener at the Hurricane Invitational where he clocked 10.03 to win the race, Kerley has now exuded confidence ahead of the Olympic Games that will pit him against some of the strongest athletes, including triple world champion Lyles, Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala, and defending champion Marcel Jacobs.

During the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Kerley finished second behind Jacobs and he will be looking to upgrade the silver medal to gold. He noted that the season has started well and they will just be burning the midnight oil ahead of the clash.

“I feel like that’s a good start to prepare for my Olympic season and this year the only thing we are working on is the drive phase and momentum," Kerley said during an interview.

“It’s time to upgrade that silver to gold…that’s the only thing I’m working for, upgrading that silver to gold and I know I’m the man to do it."

Speaking about investing money as an athlete, the American is known to be a great investor and he shared some of the tips with upcoming athletes.

Kerley also noted that athletes who are just starting out their careers should seek advice from relevant sources since not all elderly people will give the correct counsel.

“You can invest in a lot of things…I have invested in the stock market, I have a barber shop that we are just about to open this month or next in Berkel," he added.

“If you ever need a cut, come down to Miami and it would be lovely. I’ve also bought land, bought another house and I’m about to sign the papers tomorrow. So, it’s just the small things and then plus I’m invested in cattle and stuff and it’s good to grow your own food.

“They should have discipline, be patient and listen to advice off certain people and every advice that you get from elders is not always right because if it probably worked for them it will not necessarily work for you."
