Omanyala headlines the 2025 Adidas Atlanta City Games in a stacked 150m showdown; here’s how to watch live.
Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has touched down in the United States ahead of a high-stakes sprint clash at the 2025 Adidas Atlanta City Games set for Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The 29-year-old Kenyan will headline the men’s 150m event at the day-long athletics festival, taking place at Piedmont Park in Atlanta.
The race was initially hyped as a clash between Omanyala and American sprint king Noah Lyles, but the latter has withdrawn due to a minor injury sustained during training.
Despite the absence of Lyles, the competition remains fierce with top sprinters like Akani Simbine and Zharnel Hughes set to bring the heat.
“I wanted the world record, but I'll settle for the American. I'm hyped. I'm excited,” said Lyles in a previous statement before he was sidelined.
