Oblique Seville has expressed sympathy for Kishane Thompson missing his debut run at the World Relays.

Oblique Seville has shared his honest opinion on Kishane Thompson failing to run at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China.

Team Jamaica’s men’s 4x100m relay team failed to live up to expectations, missing out on a chance to qualify for the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in September.

In the heats of the men’s 4x100m, there was a botched baton exchange between Julian Forte and Yohan Blake, denying them a chance to be in the final with Kishane Thompson, who was in the anchor leg, failing to run.

Team Jamaica had a chance to qualify for the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in the repechage round, but Julian Forte, running in the second leg, pulled up with an injury and failed to place the baton in Yohan Blake’s hand in time, denying Kishane Thompson another chance to run.

The two-time Olympian revealed that he did not get a chance to speak to any of the athletes who were competing at the World Athletics Relays.

However, he pointed out that it was a sad affair that Kishane Thompson, in his first-ever World Athletics Relays, failed to run due to those mistakes.

“No, I didn't speak to any of them. It's unfortunate for Kishane because he didn't get the opportunity to run there because of what happened, but I didn't get the opportunity to speak to any of them,” Oblique Seville shared.

Oblique Seville went down memory lane on the Paris Olympic Games, revealing that it was unfortunate that he had to pull up an injury after the Jamaican National trials.

The 24-year-old pointed out that fans were pissed off but he did not have control over what happened. He noted that what stressed him out was that he got injured and could not perform at his best.

“Yeah, because it's going to help me with the rounds at the World Championship, so I think it's beneficial in the long term in the season,” Oblique Seville said about the Grand Slam Track.

“The season is actually in September, so I think it would actually help me to watch the rounds for the World Championship.”

Now, Oblique Seville is eyeing a great run at the Atlanta City Games before preparing for what comes next.

He has competed in a series of competitions, including the two legs of the Grand Slam Track league in Kingston, Jamaica and Miami.
