CS Eliud Owalo's generous donation and support bring hope to struggling Muhoroni Youth FC amid their financial challenges.

ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has come to the aid of struggling Muhoroni Youth FC with a substantial donation of Ksh500,000.

The much-needed financial boost was presented during Owalo's visit to the team's training grounds in Muhoroni, where he was accompanied by Kisumu County Senator Prof Tom Ojienda, who contributed an additional Ksh200,000 to the team's cause.

Eliud Owalo, through his Eliud Owalo Foundation, also showed his commitment to the team's well-being by presenting 40 tracksuits, aiming to improve the players' comfort and morale.

Muhoroni Youth, which has been facing significant financial difficulties, received this lifeline with open arms.

Moses Adagala, the Chairman of Muhoroni Youth, expressed his gratitude for Owalo's benevolence.

"This is the day the Lord has made. Thank you, CS Eliud Owalo, for your visit to Muhoroni. May God forever bless your path. You've done what no man can. The boys are going into Christmas so happy," he said.

The Eliud Owalo Foundation has consistently demonstrated commitment to supporting teams in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Last month, the foundation made headlines by donating a 42-seater bus to the reigning Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.

In addition to this, they have provided financial assistance to Shabana, Posta Rangers and AFC Leopards.

The financial challenges faced by Muhoroni had become a pressing concern before this generous intervention.

Head coach Charles Odera Odera had candidly spoken about the hardships his team was enduring, highlighting a recent incident where the players had to endure a grueling journey to Mombasa before facing Bandari.

“We have had challenges with finances but we have still been playing well," he said.

Currently, Muhoroni occupies the 15th spot in the league table, but they have shown signs of improvement, securing two victories in their last five matches.

Last season, the team faced a challenging period, losing several games, before rallying to achieve a series of positive results that enabled them to narrowly avoid relegation through the playoffs.

The financial support from two politicians has injected renewed hope and determination into the Muhoroni camp.

With their financial worries alleviated, the team can now focus on their matches with a stronger sense of purpose and the belief that they can climb higher in the league standings.
