The official, who has served his full two-year term, has warned the incoming AFC Leopards leadership against expecting instant success at the club.
AFC Leopards are preparing to usher in a new leadership team in one month’s time but one of the outgoing officials does not feel anything will change.
The Leopards fraternity go to the polls on June 29 to elect new officials with the seat of chairman and secretary general set to be hotly contested.
Incumbent chairman Dan Shikanda has served his full two-year term and will not be on the ballot while secretary general Gilbert Andugu passed away this month following a long illness and those two key seats have attracted a lot of interest.

However, Shikanda feels the incoming leadership is already doomed to fail as there are a number of issues at the club that have made his spell a nightmare and will do the same to those who come in.

AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has vowed to derail Gor Mahia’s FKF Premier League title hopes in the Mashemeji Derby, backing Kenya Police to win the league.
“The fact is power is transient, and in a month’s time, I will hand over the club to a different team. However, I want to assure you expect nothing different at the den if things will be done in the same manner,” Shikanda warned through a Facebook post.

“Let me tell you for free, if we still work very hard on systemic sabotage, even if you bring whoever you are thinking about, nothing good will come out of them.
“Soon namaliza naenda. I am not leaving the club where I found it, it only needs a sensible person to understand that,” he further said, insisting that his stint has been successful.
Shikanda has in his eight-year reign complained of sabotage from within the Leopards hierarchy with decision-making proving problematic as officials fought each other but he has not escaped blame for a number of blunders witnessed at the club.

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has confirmed that fate of tickets bought for the postponed Mashemeji Derby, now rescheduled for June 2 at Raila Odinga Stadium.
Despite their inability to win a league title, Ingwe have also suffered losses, especially from former players and coaches, who have sued the club over contractual breaches, leading to transfer bans, while there still exists a lack of trust between officials and fans over how resources are utilized.
Former Leopards striker Boniface Ambani, ex-Ingwe CEO Ronald Namai are in the race to replace Shikanda alongside Oliver Napali, Olympia Musonye and Enosh Mutokah while the secretary general post is attracting interest from a number of aspirants, among them Robert Situma, Isaac Mulindi, Newton Lime and Irene Sitawa.
