The midfielder's late goal secured victory for Tusker FC, propelling them up the FKF Premier League standings and boosting team morale.

When the stakes were high and the clock was ticking down Fabian Adikiny emerged as the hero for Tusker FC scoring a last-gasp goal to secure a crucial 1-0 win against struggling Police FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

The 23-year-old creative midfielder's dramatic strike not only sealed Tusker's third consecutive victory but also propelled the former champions to the sixth spot on the FKF Premier League standings.

Under the guidance of coach Robert Matano, the Brewers had endured a nightmarish start to this campaign.

However, Adikiny's late-game heroics have added another chapter to Tusker's resurgence. With this win, they now boast seven victories, five losses, and four draws in the season so far.

Adikiny, the man of the moment, took a moment to reflect on his match-winning goal and what it means for his team.

Speaking after the game, he said, "It was a great feeling scoring the last-minute goal. It earned us three points and boosted the morale of the whole team ahead of the next match."

Clearly elated by his performance, Adikiny continued, "This has lifted my spirits and given me the confidence I needed. I want to send a warning to other teams that I have regained my scoring form."

Tusker FC is not resting on their laurels after this exhilarating victory.

Adikiny emphasized the importance of maintaining their momentum, stating, "We have one game left before the end of the first leg against KCB, and we've been given a seven-day break before the match.

I know that winning this match against Police has boosted our morale, and I urge my fellow players not to relax as we prepare for the next clash. We need to keep pushing forward."

Adikiny's journey to Tusker FC started at the beginning of the season when he was signed from the newly promoted FKFPL side, Murang'a Seal.

His assured performances in the middle of the park played a significant role in helping Murang'a Seal secure promotion.

Matano, at the time of his unveiling, wasted no time in drawing comparisons, proclaiming, "This is the new Hum," in front of the assembled press.

For those who closely follow Kenyan football, the mention of "Hum" brings to mind Humphrey Mieno, who departed from Tusker FC after his contract expired, moving on to Sofapaka for a third stint after more than 14 years of service to various clubs in the FKF Premier League.

Mieno left an indelible mark during his time at Tusker, captivating fans and neutrals alike with his nonchalant ability to dictate the tempo in the middle of the park, his audacious technique, and his ability to see three or four steps ahead of everyone else—a skill reminiscent of the legendary former Barcelona captain, Sergio Busquets.

With this victory, Tusker FC now occupies the sixth spot on the FKF Premier League standings with 25 points amassed from 16 matches.

The 12-time FKF Premier League champions currently sit seven points behind table leaders Gor Mahia, who have a game in hand.

A win against Police has not only solidified their position but also underscored their determination to climb even higher in the league rankings.
