"I came here in December and there was no grass on several pitches, but today you can even play golf there. This shows huge progress has been made," Veron stated, specifically citing the improved conditions at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, and Nyayo National Stadium as quoted by Nation Sports.
He lauded the installation of all seating at Kasarani and acknowledged that Nyayo has already hosted two matches.
Despite the optimism, Veron was clear that certain aspects must still be addressed before Kenya can be deemed fully ready.
"There are aspects that must be completed before we can say Kenya is ready to host the tournament," he warned, emphasizing the need for consistent momentum.
His tour also included inspections at Kirigiti Stadium, Kenya Police Sacco Grounds, and Ulinzi Sports Complex — designated training venues.
