Chelsea are targeting a €100 million-rated striker as part of their ambitious summer transfer plans to boost attacking options.

Chelsea are targeting Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike despite the German club's €100 million asking price which has presented a significant obstacle.

Chelsea achieved their domestic objective by finishing fourth in the Premier League, securing Champions League football for next season.

The club's management has two key targets this summer: a central striker and a right-sided winger, to take the team to the next level.

Chelsea target Hugo Ekitike carries a €100 million price tag

On Chelsea's radar is Hugo Ekitike, coming off a career-best season with 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances.

Eintracht Frankfurt's €100 million valuation of Ekitike poses a potential roadblock. The German club, also Champions League-bound, are reportedly open to accepting the fee in installments, which could be a positive for Chelsea.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea's alternative targets include RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, 21, and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap, 22.

Could he be joining Chelsea after previously turning down Newcastle?

During the 2021/22 season, a then 19-year-old Hugo Ekitike impressed for Stade Reims, scoring 10 goals in 24 league appearances.

Newcastle pushed hard to sign Ekitike in January 2022 and even reached an agreement with Reims, but the player rejected the move to England at the last minute.

Ekitike eventually joined PSG, where his performance was underwhelming, managing just 4 goals and 4 assists in 33 appearances.

He moved to Frankfurt on February 1, 2024, and his impressive statistics from last season have put him on the radar of several top European clubs.
