The FKFPL league leaders, Kenya Police, have made a strong case for themselves, leading the charge with 55 points.

The Etienne Ndayiragije-coached side has done well to maintain their stay at the summit with 55 points.

The Law Enforcers' 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday reinforced their stay at the top.

Police have back-to-back away fixtures against Bandari and Kakamega Homeboyz before hosting Talanta.

The Law Enforcers face a tricky test against Shabana in their second-last game before an all-important game against Gor Mahia.

If all three teams are still closely knitted, their final fixture against Gor Mahia could prove decisive in who lifts the title.

Gor Mahia Eye Record-Extending Title

The FKFPL champions are on a quest to defend their title and secure a record-extending championship, currently seating second on the log with 52 points.

Their pedigree in title races gives them an edge over their challengers.

However, the defending champions face a tricky run of fixtures.

Up next for Sinisa Mihic's men is the Mashemeji Derby against AFC Leopards.

The fiercely contested fixture has already proven to be a tough nut to crack for K'Ogalo, with the first leg ending in a barren draw.

The Green Army cannot afford a slip-up, and a draw against their bitter rivals will see them drop points in a fiercely contested title race.

The record champions left it late in Gusii on Sunday as they sank Shabana 1-0.

After the Mashemeji Derby, they next take on Nairobi City Stars and Murang'a Seal.

Their last two fixtures against Ulinzi Stars present a tricky test before they host fellow title challengers Police on the final matchday.

Tusker Aim To Close Gap On Gor Mahia

Tusker FC, like Gor Mahia, also boast title-winning pedigree and currently place third with 52 points.

It's been a back-and-forth affair between the Brewers and K'Ogalo, and a triumph will see them close the gap on the record champions.

The 2021/22 champions are the only side to have shown the pedigree to topple the defending champions and will hope to do so again as they eye a 14th league title.

However, they face fixtures against Murang'a Seal, FC Talanta, and Sofapaka, before taking on Kariobangi Sharks, after which they will travel to Homeboyz on the final matchday.

As things stand, the title is Police's to lose. However, their final matchday fixture against Gor Mahia could prove to be a decisive fixture if the teams are still closely knitted.

Gor Mahia’s and Tusker's pedigree in title races in recent times adds an edge to an already exhilarating battle.
