The Tanzanian broadcaster partners with FKF to televise Premier League matches starting with the 2023/2024 season, boosting league visibility and competitiveness.

Tanzania's broadcast company Azam TV will bring over 100 exhilarating Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) matches to television screens in the 2023/2024 season.

Under the newly forged partnership with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), the pay-tv channel will broadcast four matches from every match week on their dedicated channel, Azam HD 4.

With 18 teams participating and a total of 33 rounds of matches scheduled for the season after the opening weekend, Azam’s acquisition of the broadcasting rights means that a substantial portion of these encounters reaches fans in their homes.

“Under the deal, Azam Media will air four matches in every round on their Pay TV and Digital platforms,” part of the statement by FKF reads.

The completion of one round has already marked the broadcast of numerous matches, leaving approximately 134 more matches to be televised.

The significance of this partnership between Azam Media and the FKF goes beyond the immediate season.

“We thank Azam Media for agreeing to partner with us. This partnership will go a long way in improving the visibility of the league and in the long run, making our league even more competitive,” said FKF President Nick Mwendwa.

“As a Federation, we remain committed to the development of Kenyan football and as such, we shall continue seeking partnerships with like minded companies with a view of increasing the commercial value of the league,” added the FKF President.

The subsequent seasons will witness a 10% increment in the value of the partnership, underscoring Azam Media's commitment to supporting and promoting football in the region.

As the details of the broadcasting schedule are set to be revealed in the coming days, fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to engage with their favorite sport like never before.
