Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim remains confident despite a slump season.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim remains steadfast in his belief that the club is heading in the right direction, even after a disappointing season culminated in a painful 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

A solitary strike from Brennan Johnson on Wednesday night dashed United's hopes of lifting silverware and securing a Champions League berth for next season.

The loss not only ended their European campaign but also compounded what has been the club's worst Premier League season in recent memory.

United will close the season at home to Aston Villa on Sunday, with little to play for but pride.

Why Amorim Remains Confident

Despite the bleak outlook, Amorim maintains a positive outlook, suggesting that foundational changes behind the scenes point to a brighter future.

“I think it’s healthier,” said the Portuguese tactician as quoted by Sky Sports.

“You can’t see the results. Worse results, but we are in a better place as a club, in the small things that will be big things in the future.”

Amorim, who took over in a period of mounting pressure and transition from Dutch tactician Erik Ten Hag, admits the job has been tougher than expected.

“I didn’t regret joining. I suffered, as any Mancunian suffered. The problems were deeper than I was thinking. The instability, everybody is changing, all the departments are changing," said Amorim.

While the club’s on-pitch performance has left much to be desired, Amorim is confident that structural improvements will eventually yield success.

“We are getting some steps to improve things,” he added.

“You cannot see it, I understand that, because the results are so poor. But we are in a better place. That I can guarantee.”

With sweeping changes ongoing across various departments, Amorim’s emphasis is clearly on long-term growth rather than short-term results.

Whether the fans’ patience will hold through another trophy-less campaign remains to be seen, but the manager is adamant that United’s rebuild is on course.
