Adikiny, who was signed as a replacement for veteran Humphrey Mieno, has opened up on his debut season for the Brewers.

Tusker FC midfielder Fabian Adikiny has expressed satisfaction with the progress he has made since joining the club from Murang’a Seal during the off-season transfer window.

Adikiny, who was touted as ‘the new Hum’ by head coach Robert Matano after signing as a replacement for iconic veteran midfielder Humphrey Mieno who left for Sofapaka last season, has played in a number of roles across the midfield, including further forward, where he has combined well with potent striker Erick Kapaito.

Speaking to club media, Adikiny emphasised the importance of teamwork in his growth as a player, considering he has managed to hold his own in different positions due to his versatility.

“I have grown a lot individually. I have developed my skill to a high level since I joined and the biggest lesson I have learnt is the essence of teamwork, which is the pillar of growth.”

Despite facing challenges, including an injury setback early in the season, Adikiny remains confident in his ability to continue improving.

“So far so good. It has been a great first season. I am still a work in progress but I am on a good track.

“As a footballer, you always have to adapt to any new situation and it hasn’t been easy. With a good mentality though, I have been able to do well.”

With Tusker eyeing only the league after FKF Cup elimination, Adikiny's focus is on finishing the campaign with a trophy.

“It would be something really great to finish with a trophy. This is something that I have longed for and getting my first career trophy in the first season with Tusker would be a dream come true.”
