Moses Zewedi has confirmed Mighty Eagles Academy will face Norway’s Eidskog Fotball at the Dana Cup opener in Denmark this July.

Mighty Eagles Academy will open their European campaign this July representing Kenya at the prestigious Dana Cup in Hjørring, Denmark.

The Trans Nzoia-based academy has 28 visas already secured—22 for players and six for officials and racing against time to raise funds for tickets ahead of their scheduled departure on July 19, 2025.

This year’s tournament, running from July 21 to 26, will bring together hundreds of youth football teams from across the globe in a celebration of talent, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange.

For the Mighty Eagles, the event marks the culmination of months of preparation, mentorship, and community support, underpinned by an unwavering desire to give Gen Z athletes a stage to showcase their passion.

“We are now appealing for the tickets. We have secured 28 Visas—22 players and 6 officials,” the Moses Zewedi, the visionary founder of the Mighty Eagles Academy told Pulse Sports.

The team is now calling on the government empowerment programs spearheaded by Deputy President Kindiki, Hon. Oscar Sudi, and Farouk Kibet to step in and help the academy overcome logistical and financial barriers that still stand in the way of their participation.

The Dana Cup organizing committee has also welcomed Mighty Eagles Academy warmly into what they call the “Dana Cup Family.”

Mighty Eagles will start their tournament campaign with a highly anticipated fixture against Norway’s Eidskog Fotball on Tuesday, June 22.

The clash promises to be a thrilling opener, pitting the raw talent of Kitale’s finest against one of Scandinavia’s respected grassroots football programs.

“This is the moment we’ve been working toward for the past year—and the moment you and your team have been preparing for,” read a statement from the Dana Cup organizers announcing the official tournament schedule.

For many of the young players, this journey is more than an opportunity to play football—it is a chance to inspire their peers back home and show what Kenyan youth can achieve with the right support.

Academy officials have emphasized the need for last-mile financial assistance to cover air tickets, which remain the only hurdle standing between them and their Danish dream.
