Top golfers from Nakuru and beyond will battle for two coveted grand finale slots as the KCB East Africa Golf Tour tees off at Nakuru Golf Club.

The 12th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour is scheduled for the par-73 Nakuru Golf Course this weekend.

The tournament has attracted 200m golfers from Nakuru and its environs, with the golfers looking to continue booking their slots in the tour’s grand finale and hopefully walk away with the top prize.

The top two teams from the weekend’s action will automatically qualify for the December 5 grand finale.

The Nakuru leg comes after a competitive run in Uganda, where Gloria Nanyonga, Dipak Patel, Nic Snyman, and Mathew Nviiri earned their spot in the grand finale.

They now join teams that have already qualified from Nairobi, Mombasa, Nyanza, Kericho, Kiambu, Burundi, Nandi, and Nanyuki, setting the stage for a truly regional showdown.

Speaking ahead of the competition, Nakuru Golf Club Captain Eng. Michael Mululu said: “It is such an honour to host the KCB East Africa Golf Tour for the third year in a row.

“We expect a huge turnout this Saturday, and I would like to tell the players that the course is in the absolute best condition. The greens are slow, and the fairways are wide enough. However, the course can be challenging.”

KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru, reiterated the bank’s dedication to promoting the sport throughout the region.

“We are proud of the impact the KCB East Africa Golf Tour continues to have, not just in growing the game of golf, but also in creating connections and fostering community across the region,” she said.

Following the amateur tournament on Saturday, KCB will hold a juniors-only clinic on Sunday, with over 100 young aspiring golfers expected to take part.

A tree-planting exercise will also take place that day, underscoring the Bank’s continued commitment to integrating sustainability into the golf series.
