Peter Nuthu emerged victorious at the Lady Captain’s Swing tournament at Ruiru Golf Club, topping a 200-player field with 37 points.

Peter Nuthu, playing off a handicap of 19, claimed overall victory at the Lady Captain’s Swing tournament at Ruiru Golf Club with an impressive 37 stableford points, topping a field of 200 golfers.

Handicap 15 golfer Patrick Kimanga put up a strong fight to stop Peter Nuthu but could only afford a second place overall with 35 points.

John Baptista matched Patrick Kimanga with 35 points but settled for the men’s runner-up position after losing on countback in the closely contested tournament.

In the ladies’ category, handicap 29 golfer Beth Ngugi delivered a strong 35-point performance to take the win, narrowly edging out Esther Kimani, playing off handicap 35, who finished runner-up with 34 points.

Handicap 12 golfer Paul Kungu walked away with the First Nine award after posting an impressive 19 points. Handicap 10, Erastus Thoronjo claimed top honours in the Second Nine with 19 points as well.

The ladies’ segment saw Pauline Mungai, playing off handicap 17, also return 19 points to clinch the First Nine Ladies’ prize.

In the guest category, Peris Mwangi (handicap 35) secured top honours with 36 points, while the juniors’ prize went to Wilson Mwangi (handicap 9), who carded 29 points. Susan Gachina, playing off handicap 39, led the division category with 18 points.

Ruiru Sports Club is set to host a Club Nite on Thursday, July 17, serving as a curtain-raiser for the eagerly awaited Accountants Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 19 at the scenic course.
