Naivas' victory over Kisumu All Stars puts pressure on league leaders Mathare United, with just a two-point gap separating the teams.

Naivas FC continued to showcase their impressive form on Saturday as they triumphed over Kisumu All Stars with a score of 2-1 in a National Super League (NSL) showdown at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

From the very first whistle, the Shoppers asserted their dominance on the field and it took them just seven minutes to break the deadlock when Derrick Amani found the back of the net.

Their lead, however, was short-lived as Noah Ngiendo of Otenga equalized in the 11th minute, leveling the score at 1-1.

Nevertheless, Naivas were determined to maintain their supremacy, and in the 43rd minute, Francis Nambute unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that eluded goalkeeper Wycliffe Oduor, restoring the hosts' lead.

The 66th minute saw Naivas extending their lead further with Nambute scoring his second goal, and from that point onward, they never eased up, ensuring that the visitors, Kisumu All Stars, could not mount a comeback.

As a result of this impressive victory, Naivas FC has secured the second spot on the league standings, amassing a total of 20 points from nine matches.

Naivas' consistent performance and their latest victory have certainly made them a force to be reckoned with in the fight to dislodge table leader Mathare United in the NSL log.

Meanwhile, Kisumu All Stars have dropped to the third position, accumulating 18 points from 10 matches.

In another NSL action, at Cardinal Otunga High School in Mosocho, Gusii FC triumphed over Silibwet Leons with a 2-1 scoreline.

Meanwhile, at the Wolves Den in Ololooitikosh, the clash between Dimba Patriots and Rainbow FC ended in a goalless draw.

Despite their best efforts, neither team managed to break the deadlock, leaving the spectators hungry for more action in future encounters.
