Tusker coach Charles Okere believes their big loss to Sofapaka can wake up the beast in his team in their final two matches of the season.
Tusker coach Charles Okere is keen to turn their pain into gain after suffering a humiliating defeat last weekend.
Okere watched in disbelief as his players were put to the sword by Sofapaka, who thrashed them 7-1, in an FKF Premier League match last weekend.
The loss left Okere lost for words, with the tactician suspecting something sinister from his players, but he seems to be getting over it as instead of allowing it to drag them down, he wants it to be the springboard for something special.

“It was humiliating and one of the worst days in the club’s history. We can’t hide from that fact,” Okere told Telecomasia.net.

“It was painful, still is to lose in such a way. It was a day where we didn’t give a good account of ourselves, we didn’t give a fight and we let the club down.
“But in life sometimes, the worst days might be the beginning of the best days. We take the painful lesson and look to do better. We have two more games before the season ends and we have to bounce back.”
Tusker’s big loss all but knocked them out of the title race as they are on 55 points with two games remaining, six behind leaders Kenya Police, who enjoy a +15-goal advantage over them.
Okere will now look to see a change in attitude and approach from his players when they face Kariobangi Sharks and Kakamega Homeboyz in their final two games.

The striker, who made his debut for Harambee Stars against Iran in 2023, was awarded five loaves of bread and two fish for his man of the match display in Norway.
The tactician’s future is, however, uncertain after letting a big advantage in the title race slip away with the big defeat to Sofapaka not helping his case.
