Kenyan footballers experience a weekend of varied outcomes in the Zambian Super League.

Three Kenya internationals took center stage in thrilling matches of the Zambian Super League (ZSL) on Saturday delivering a mixed bag of results.

David Odhiambo

Former Gor Mahia defender David Odhiambo donning the Napsa Stars jersey, retained his starting position in a 1-1 draw against Power Dynamoes played at Arthur Davies Stadium.

However, despite his best efforts, he could not help Napsa Stars secure all three points against Power Dynamos.

The game took an interesting turn when Napsa Stars drew first blood in the 16th minute, thanks to a beautifully executed header by Austine Banda.

Dynamos, undeterred, cranked up the pressure and managed to draw level in the 27th minute when Luka Banda found the back of his net under the relentless assault from the hosts.

Ultimately, both teams had to settle for a point each, leaving Napsa Stars languishing in the 13th spot with 19 points.

Ian Otieno

Meanwhile, in another exciting league clash, Zesco United, where Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Otieno usually guards the net, had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Mufurira Wanderers.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Otieno did not start the match and was not even on the bench, as Toaster Nsabata took his place between the goalposts, with Mwenya Chibwe providing backup.

The first half ended in a goalless stalemate, but Wanderers broke the deadlock just two minutes after the hour mark with a brilliant strike from Owen Mwamba.

Zesco fought back valiantly, equalizing with just five minutes left on the clock through Enock Sakala.

Despite the draw, Zesco maintained their supremacy at the top of the league standings with an impressive 33 points.

Ng'ang'a & Ochieng'

In another contest, Kenyan talents Dennis Ng'ang'a and John Ochieng' featured for Zanaco, but their efforts proved insufficient as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nkana FC in an away match at Sunset Stadium.

The lone goal of the match came in the 43rd minute when Royd Katuta found the back of the net.

Both Ng'anga and Ochieng' fought valiantly, clocking the entire ninety minutes, but the loss left Zanaco in the 10th position with 22 points.
