Kenya international Janet Bundi bids farewell to Vihiga Queens amid speculations of a move to Tanzania.

Kenya international Janet Bundi has announced her departure from FKF Women's Premier League powerhouse Vihiga Queens after a successful three-year stint with the club.

The news of her exit has sent shockwaves through the footballing community, especially with reports circulating that she may be headed to Tanzanian giants, Yanga Princesses.

Bundi officially confirmed her departure through a heartfelt statement posted on her official Facebook page.

Her message expressed gratitude for the incredible memories, remarkable teammates, and the numerous trophies she had won during her time with the four-time Kenyan champions.

"As I leave this club after many years of incredible memories, outstanding teammates, and trophies, I want to express my profound gratitude.

"This chapter may be closing, but the friendships and memories will forever remain in my heart. The fans here are the real champions. Thank you for everything Vihiga Queens Football CLUB, forever a legacy maker," she wrote.

Vihiga Queens, in an official statement, wished Bundi the best in her future football career, acknowledging her contributions to the club's success.

"All the very best Queen Janet Moraa Bundi in your future football career. On to the world!" the club wrote, signaling their support for her next chapter in the beautiful game.

Bundi's departure is a significant blow to Vihiga Queens, as she had been in superb form this season, playing a pivotal role in their bid to retain the FKF Women's Premier League title.

Her contributions were instrumental in securing the 2021 CECAFA Title, a historic achievement that qualified the team for their first-ever CAF Women's Champions League appearance.

The 27-year-old striker originally joined Vihiga Queens from Eldoret Falcons, showcasing her talent and versatility on the pitch throughout her tenure with the club.

She had also previously played for Nyamira Starlets, leaving an indelible mark on the local football scene.

Vihiga Queens, the defending champions, currently lead the league standings with 21 points after nine matches, boasting an impressive record of six victories and three draws.
