Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag discussed his team's victory over Sean Dyche's Everton.

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag analysed his team’s performance and victory against Everton, praising how they rallied in the second-half after getting passive following their opener.

Ten Hag's team destroyed the Toffees 3-0 at Goodison Park, moving up into the top six and keeping Everton firmly in the relegation zone.

Alejandro Garnacho's incredible goal to start the game was followed by Marcus Rashford's penalty kick to double the lead. Anthony Martial completed the scoring on the day as Manchester United returned home with three points.

What Ten Hag said

“The start of the game, very good. A very good team goal, the finish was incredible and world-class. Probably already the goal of the season. Magnificent moment,” he said, per the BBC.

"Then we went passive and Everton went into the game. At half-time we corrected it and were very good. We were proactive, taking the initiative and scoring great goals. At first, I was wondering why it was not a penalty. So obvious. Happy we got the penalty. We have some very good penalty-takers.

“There you saw the captaincy - he knew a player needed the goal. It will help him and give him extra strength.

"Excellent team goal and an excellent finish [from Martial]. We have front players; a lot has to do with confidence and belief."

Meanwhile, Ten Hag was full of praise for young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who put on a remarkable performance in the Red Devil’s triumph over Everton.
