Isaac Omurwa aspires to join brother Ferdinand Omanyala at the World Relays in Bahamas.

Ferdinand Omanyala's younger brother, Isaac Omurwa, is setting his sights on the global stage as he dreams of competing alongside his celebrated sibling at this year’s World Athletics Relays Championships.

Despite the setbacks of not making the national team for the African Games and missing out on a spot at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, the 19-year-old sprinter remains undeterred in his quest for international recognition.

The World Relays, scheduled for May 4-5 in Nassau, Bahamas, presents a golden opportunity for Omurwa to showcase his talent on a prestigious platform.

Having previously represented Kenya in regional competitions, the young athlete is no stranger to the demands of international athletics.

Yet, the prospect of lining up next to the African 100m champion and record holder at a world event is a thrilling prospect that fuels his ambition.

"It would mean a lot for me to feature at an international competition of such caliber – side by side with the African record holder," Omurwa said as Capital Sports.

"The national trials are coming up, and I’d love to be in the team with him. However, the team is very competitive, and so I know I have to work extra hard to make it because then again, he cannot run on my behalf."

As the World Relays approach, the young sprinter is not just chasing a spot on the team but also the embodiment of his dreams and the continuation of a legacy alongside his brother, Ferdinand Omanyala.
