He stormed to a 43.40 time in the final for the gold medal- setting a personal best and world lead in the process.

US sprinting star Quincy Hall finally opened up on the decision that he made that led to his triumph in 400m in 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Hall revealed that his biggest truimphs had come in 400m hurdles, where he both claimed victory in the 2019 NCAA and NACAC U-23 titles in the same season.

But as he turned his eyes to making  the US Olympics team, Hall made a switch, choosing to focus on the 400n flat instead.

His choice saw him reap big two years later-a gold medal in the event at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

"I won't say I could have been here doing (400m hurdles)," admitted Hall in an exclusive interview with Olympics.com. "Because I was trying for the last years, and I never made a USA team doing the 400m hurdles.

"So, me making the switch two years ago, me being a bronze medallist last year and now I'm Olympic champion. I guess just found my niche."

He stormed to a 43.40 time in the final for the gold medal- setting a personal best and world lead in the process.

In many ways, it was just another day in the office for the American.

"I put myself through a ring of fire, so I'm beating myself up everyday," Hall explained. "So, going out there and running 43 seconds is nothing compared to what I do in practice."
