Manchester United Lower Andre Onana Price Tag in Bid to Attract Interest

Manchester United’s summer transfer window continues to be a whirlwind, as they have reportedly slapped a £30 million price tag on goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The amount is significantly less than the £47.2 million they paid for him two years ago, as he signed a contract until 2028. Andre Onana came to Old Trafford from Inter Milan.

AS Monaco reportedly baulked at the price, and with other potential suitors securing alternative targets, Andre Onana's future seems increasingly likely to remain at Old Trafford, at least for the time being.

Despite Onana being the first-choice goalkeeper, his inconsistent form has led to speculation about his long-term position at the club.

Manchester United are reportedly considering replacements, including Aston Villa's Emiliano Martínez, Atalanta's Marco Carnesecchi, and Botafogo's John.

In a previous interview during the Europa League, Ruben Amorim revealed that Andre Onana is an exceptional talent, and despite the few mistakes he has made to cost Manchester United, he still remains one of the best.

Ruben Amorim commented on Andre Onana's mistakes, stating that errors can happen in football, especially when playing many games.

Amorim then added that if one looks at the season, he himself had made more mistakes than the players during recent games and months.

“We have training, go with Jorge Vital (goalkeeping coach), and we deal with that – really natural. That can happen with any player. There’s nothing I can say to André in this moment that will help,” Ruben Amorim said.

“The most important thing is to be natural, and then, when the time comes, I will choose the best XI to play. But I’m really confident in Andre.”

Manchester United have also reportedly pulled out of a lucrative documentary deal with Amazon Prime. The "All or Nothing" series would have offered a behind-the-scenes look at the club, but manager Ruben Amorim expressed concerns about the potential intrusion and disruption.

Coupled with commercial considerations and time constraints, the club ultimately decided against the project, deeming it an ‘unwanted distraction.’

This decision comes amidst cost-cutting measures at the club, despite the potential financial benefits of the documentary.

Several players have reportedly requested to leave Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have all been granted extended time off before pre-season training to explore potential transfers.

While the club is open to their return if moves do not materialize, their departures would align with United's strategy of raising funds through player sales.

Marcus Rashford has attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona, while Jadon Sancho has been linked with Juventus and Napoli.

Real Betis are reportedly in talks to sign Antony, and Malacia is searching for a new club after his loan spell at PSV Eindhoven ended.
