Sir Jim Ratcliffe could spark tension with Amorim by selling Fernandes, who remains central to the coach's vision.

Manchester United’s leadership is facing a crucial decision that could jeopardize its budding relationship with manager Ruben Amorim.

United are coming of the worst season in their history having finished 15 in the league with a meagre 42 points and missed out on Champions League football as a result of their 1-0 Europa League defeat to Tottenham.

These circumstances have prompted United to put up every player for sale including captain Bruno Fernandes who has attracted offers.

According to Sky Sports, Sir Jim Ratcliffe risks a major falling out with the Portuguese tactician if the club proceeds with the sale of captain Bruno Fernandes.

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal has reportedly given Fernandes just one week to decide on a lucrative move.

United, keen on securing financial backing for a major summer overhaul, may feel pressured to accept the offer, especially considering the potentially massive transfer fee on the table.

Amorim’s Clear Message

Ruben Amorim wants Bruno Fernandes to stay at Manchester United

Amorim has not been shy about his admiration for Fernandes.

The Red Devils' boss has expressed a strong desire to see the midfielder remain at Old Trafford, emphasizing the Portuguese international's quality and commitment.

"I think he wants to stay, he is saying 'no' to a lot of things, but it shows that he wants to win," Amorim said via Sky Sports addressing Fernandes links.

"He is really good and needs to be in the best league in the world. Yes, we can turn down a £100m bid, we can find another way to earn money."

Amorim added that while decisions often lie with the player and the board, his discussions with Fernandes gave him confidence that the midfielder was committed to the United project.

Fernandes was a rare shining light during a turbulent season for Manchester United, registering an impressive 19 goals and 20 assists.

Selling such an influential figure, especially against the advice of the manager, could disrupt the stability the club is trying to build.

While cashing in might fund other signings, replacing Fernandes’ influence, leadership, and production will not come easy.

For United, the decision goes beyond finances, it’s about aligning vision with the manager tasked with leading United into a new era.
