Manchester United has granted Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot an additional week of leave following their attendance at the funeral of their former national team colleague, Diogo Jota, and his brother, Andre Silva, in Gondomar.

The former Liverpool player and his brother tragically passed away early Thursday morning in a car accident in Spain.

According to The Sun, Manchester United, managed by Ruben Amorim, whose squad returns to training this Monday, has given both players an extra week off to cope with the tragic loss of their national teammate and league colleague.

The publication quotes a club source, stating, "The United players have rallied around them. They've been offered an extended week of leave and access to counseling and support."

"Both played with Jota for ten years on the national team and won the Nations League together just a few weeks ago," it further reads.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot, along with players Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez, Harvey Elliott, and Ibrahima Konate also attended the funeral.

Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, Conor Bradley, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, and Federico Chiesa, as well as former Reds Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, Caoimhin Kelleher, James Milner, and Jordan Henderson were also in attendance.

Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo traveled over 6,000 kilometers to attend the funeral after their Al-Hilal team was eliminated from the Club World Cup in the United States.
