FKF Women’s Cup Ulinzi Starlets annihilate Soccer Sisters 18-0 as Vihiga Queens suffer massive upset

The FKF Cup was making a return with Round of 16 action.

Ulinzi Starlets completely overran Soccer Sisters like a panzerfaust on a church gate in Normandy during World War II following a 17-0 annihilation in a match played at the Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday.

Sisters' day would begin on a wrong footing as in the third minute, Akinyi Lavenda opened the scoring before making it two seven minutes later.

Lanoline Owino would then make it three in the 12th minute before Adhiambo Fasila made it four in the 17th minute.

Owino would score her second of the day to make it five just two minutes later. In the 21st minute, she completed her hat-trick, giving the tie that unbelievable score that early into the game.

Owino’s hat-trick clearly injected a sense of competition into her teammates, as Akinyi herself also completed her hat-trick in the 26th minute.

Sophia Adhiambo would be the next one to get on the score sheet, as she made it eight before Fasila made it nine in the 35th minute.

Adhiambo would double her tally to make it 10 in the 42nd minute before Fasila became the third player of the day to complete her hat-trick just before halftime to make the score 11-0.

Starlets were clearly not satisfied with the goals, as they would make it 12 just after the break. Fasila would then score her fourth goal in the 60th minute before Owino herself also got her fourth goal three minutes later.

Sisters had clearly given up at this point, conceding a 15th just a minute afterwards. Ulinzi decided to try and reduce the misery they were pounding on Sisters by managing and slowing the tempo down, but towards the end of the game, they could not resist adding two more.

Lucy Nato made it 17 in the 86th minute before Mercy Airo put the cherry on the cake for number 18.

Elsewhere, Vihiga Queens were penalized on penalties by KISPED FC after neither side were unable to break the deadlock during regulation time.

Jacob Mulee’s Gaspo were also eliminated by Nakuru City Queens on penalties to book a slot with Thika Queens/ Zetech Sparks.

Kisumu All Starlets needed a winner from Beverline Adira in the 68th minute to cap off what was a very exciting end to end tie against Mombasa Olympic at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.
