Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma ended his nightmare three months at Czech giants Slavia Prague with a good display on his senior team debut.

Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma has had to wait for three months before getting his chance at Czech giants Slavia Prague.

Ouma joined the club at the end of January but by mid-May he had not featured for the senior team despite coming with much promise, managing just two appearances for the second-string side.

It had been a frustrating three months for the midfielder, who joined Slavia Prague for Ksh473 million from Swedish side Elfsborg, with his lack of game time a major concern back home.

It was later revealed that the player did not have key documents that needed the processing of a work permit, having lacked a National Identity Card and a Police Clearance Certificate that were required by the Czech authorities to clear him.

Now, Ouma seems to have received everything needed as he made his senior debut for the club last week.

When Did Ouma Make Slavia Debut?

The midfielder started Slavia Prague’s league match away to Jablonec last Sunday, playing 68 minutes as they lost 3-2 but he had an impressive display.

That ended a wait of three-and-a-half months and he will hope to kick on from there with Saturday’s final match against Banic likely to see him make his home debut for Slavia Prague who will be handed the league title that they won at the end of April.

Ouma had been on the bench for the Prague Derby, which Slavia won 2-1 against city rivals Sparta on May 10, but after his impressive debut, there is hope that the nightmare is over and he can now start to live the dream.

That is good news for Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy, who called him in March even without playing for his new club, and started him in the 2-1 home defeat to Gabon in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
