Shabana FC' unbeaten streak ends with a heavy loss to Ulinzi Stars.

Shabana FC saw their three match unbeaten run in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League come to an end after they suffered a 4-0 defeat against Ulinzi Stars on Sunday afternoon.

Once again, thousands of fans, along with members of the political class, gathered at the Ulinzi Sports Complex. However, due to security reasons, signal jammers disrupted internet connections in some sections of the stadium, leaving fans across the country who were following the match online partially in the dark.

The match got off to a slow start, with neither side coming out of the blocks with any pace or real intensity. Through the first half hour Shabana enjoyed more possession and midfielder Justine Omwando was an influential figure.

However, Ulinzi Stars  had their promising moments, especially when Mike Bikokwa and Stanely Omondi combined down the left flank, though the visitors goalkeepers Erick Ongiri was left relatively untested.

Ulinzi Stars went ahead at the half an hour mark when Bonventure Muchika capitalized on poor Shabana defense to send a thunderous shot into  the back of the net to make it 1-0.

Shabana responded by going forward in numbers and they  nearly managed to find the back of the net in the 37th but Peter Ogechi shot from outside the area was punched our by Stephen Ochieng for an unfruitful corner.

However, Tore Bobe were punished in the 42nd minute after losing concentration when defending  and Mark Bikokwa slotted in Alex Masinde delivery from the left to make it 2-0.

With the lack of creativity and penetration from Shabana it was no surprise to see the half end strongly in favor of the home side.

The second stanza saw Shabana make the first change just before the hour mark in an attempt to liven up their attack, with Boniface Michira rising off the bench to replace Peter Ogechi.

However, Tore Bobe went to sleep at the back and Ulinzi Stars added the third goal  through Enosh Ochieng, who turned home a low cross from Boniface Muchiri to make it 3-0.

After Isaac Otieno drew a save out of Ochieng with a header Ulinzi went up the other end of the pitch to seal the win, with Ochieng squeezing his shot past Ongiri at the near post from a tight angle to make it 4-0.

Shabana  kept pushing for a goal in the closing stages, but Justine Owando was wasteful as he dragged a shot to the left of the target on 77 minutes and George Onyango  failed to keep his effort down from outside the box in the 79th minute before Rodgers Aloro also skied an attempt two minutes later.

Ulinzi Stars eased off the throttle in the closing stages though they did have one notable moment of worry, as Issa Rashid pulled up with what looked to be a hamstring injury.

How they lined up:

Ulinzi Stars: Stephen Ochieng, Brian Brigen, Samuel Makwatta, Bonventure Muchika, Alex Masinde, Issa Rashid, Stanely Omondi, Nicholas Omondi,Enosh Ochieng, Boniface Muchiri, Mike Bikokwa
