Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola explains why Kyle Walker missed training today.

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola has given an update on the injury status of right-back Kyle Walker ahead of the Champions League final.

The 31-year-suffered a knock in the Cityzens’ FA Cup triumph over Manchester United last weekend and was subbed off.

He was not spotted in training today, sparking speculation on his availability for the UCL final against Inter this weekend. The Spanish coach has now given insight into his situation.

What Guardiola said

The former Barcelona manager was speaking at a press conference today when he gave an update on Walker's situation.

He explained that the England international hurt his back in the triumph over their cross-town rivals and was in discomfort yesterday.

However, he revealed that the player's situation improved today, but they did not want to risk anything, and that was why he missed training.

“He has a disturbance in his back,” Guardiola said, per Manchesterworld.uk.

“He had a disturbance in his back. Yesterday he was not good and today he was a little bit better. We didn’t want to take a risk and we will see what happens in the next days.”

Meanwhile, Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has warned Manchester City that his team will try everything to win the Champions League.
