Pep Guardiola explained that discussions about Jack Grealish’s future will take place at the end of the season.

Jack Grealish was a key figure in Manchester City's 2023 treble-winning campaign but has struggled to make an impact this season, making just seven Premier League starts.

Grealish was also absent from the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, and his notable absence has fueled speculation about a potential departure.

Pep Guardiola calmed the rumours, noting that the club's directors and Grealish's representatives will deliberate before any final decision is made. The England international was signed for £100m four years ago.

The Manchester City tactician insisted that Jack Grealish has to turn the tables and bring back his great form from 2023.

Pep Guardiola insisted that he is not comfortable being benched all the time and must figure out a way to make a comeback.

"We didn't talk, I didn't talk with him. People don't believe me, but these things belong to the agents and the club and Txiki, and in this case, Hugo as well. Both will decide,” Pep Guardiola said.

"What is going to happen will happen, but he has to come back to start playing minutes again. It's not only Jack. There is not one player in my locker room, and I think all the locker rooms around the world, who is happy when they do not play.

"When the team is winning and winning, they have to figure out how everything happens - but they are not happy. They are here to play and, when they don't play, they are not satisfied. That is the normal position in all the clubs."

Pep Guardiola: I Will Quit If Given a Huge Squad

Pep Guardiola further gave Manchester City one condition that might force him to quit his coaching job.

Pep Guardiola joined Manchester City in 2016 and has worked peacefully with the club. However, he has opened up about a decision that might force him to leave, especially when the transfer window closes.

Guardiola has been an incredible coach for Manchester City, guiding the club to their third Premier League title in 2017. Manchester City also defended their title in 2018, becoming the only team in history to attain 100 points in a single season.

As if that was not enough, Pep Guardiola also guided Manchester City to Premier League titles in the 2020–21, 2021–22, 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons, as well as their first Champions League title in 2021.

This season, however, Manchester City have endured a tough outing, being knocked out of the Champions League and also struggling in the Premier League. They currently lie third on the table, with 68 points just behind leaders Liverpool and Arsenal.

Now, Pep Guardiola has shared the major reason that would force him to exit Etihad Stadium after sharing tons of success with the club.

Pep Guardiola revealed that if he is given a huge squad of players, he will be forced to leave, since it will be unfair to leave a large number of fit players out.

Manchester City will be looking forward to beefing up their squad for next season in the summer transfer window, but Guardiola has already given an ultimatum on how the management should spend their money.

Pep Guardiola opened up about struggling with a lot of players and, after having trained them, inform them that they would not be allowed to play.

"I said to the club, I don't want that (a bigger squad). I don't want to leave five or six players in the freezer. I don't want that. I will quit. Make a shorter squad, I will stay,” Pep Guardiola said.

On the Manchester City website, it is confirmed that there are 28 members of the first-team squad, and four who are on loan.

In the Premier League, clubs are allowed to name a 25-man squad, but they have the liberty to include eligible U21 players.
