Tore Bobe play away to Darajani Gogo while Mara visit Mombasa Elite with little margin for error

Highly motivated Shabana will be seeking to assume the top spot while Mara Sugar FC eye an advantage over Migori Youth for the promotion playoff place during Friday’s National Super League (NSL) matches.

Shabana secured promotion back to the Premier League after 17 years in the cold last weekend, alongside leaders Murang’a Seal who are tied on 64 points with them, but Tore Bobe have a game in hand which they play on Friday against Darajani Gogo at the Kenya Police Sacco Grounds.

The Glamour Boys, therefore, need no motivation as they know a win will return them back to the summit and put them in good stead to finish the season as the champions in the second tier.

The team was hosted to a luncheon by Kisii leaders on Thursday where they were rewarded for their exemplary performances and with reports that another meeting is scheduled on Friday with more politicians, they will be out to impress even further.

Meanwhile, Mara Sugar, who are level on 53 points with fourth-placed Migori Youth, have no margin for error as they play away to Mombasa Elite at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Friday afternoon.

The club had been the subject of match-fixing claims after their 7-0 thrashing of Silibwet Leons early last week saw their goal difference increase, but those doubts were dashed when they lost last weekend’s match 2-1 to SS Assad, and with Migori also losing 1-0 to Shabana, it’s a tight battle for third place with three games remaining.

Mara are only ahead of Migori by just one goal and might need another high-scoring match to fend off their rivals who play on Saturday at home to Gusii.

In other matches scheduled for Friday, ninth-placed Mully Children's Family (MCF)  host Kibera Black Stars, who are 14th on the table, while Kisumu All Stars, who are placed 10th on the table, host 13th-placed Coastal Heroes.
