The 2013 CECFA Champions were previously ranked 101 in men’s ranking.

Harambee Stars has fallen one place in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola world rankings released on Thursday for the month of April.

This is on the back of the Stars’ 2-1 loss to Iran in an international friendly played at Azadi Stadium in Tehran.

The game was part of hundreds of international matches played by nations across the globe over the last month.

Kenya moved to position 101 in October 2022 and remained stagnant in the rankings that were released in December last year.

However, Stars’ may climb the rankings ladder further should the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) find them friendly matches for the upcoming international window in June.

Regionally, Uganda is the highly ranked East Africa nation at position 89th in the world, followed by Kenya 102  and Sudan at 128th in the world.

Sudan are followed by Tanzania and Rwanda in the 130th and 135th position on the global rankings respectively.

Ethiopia follows with 1072 points and sit at position 142nd globally while Burundi follows at 145th position with 1069 points.

Morocco remained the highest-ranked African nation, finding themselves in 11th position in the world rankings.

Argentina moved back to the summit for the first time in over six years globally. The world champions leapfrogged Brazil, who are now third, after enjoying friendly wins over Panama and Curaçao while their old rivals were losing to Morocco.

Former world champions France are now second, having moved past the Brazilians after beating the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland in their opening UEFA EURO qualifiers.
