Former Harambee Stars goalkeeper stages a shocking comeback with Marafiki FC, aiming to lead them to Division One success.

Former Harambee Stars goalkeeper Omar Zamu Adisa has emerged as the latest addition to the Football Kenya Federation Division Two side, Marafiki FC.

Adisa's signing has sent shockwaves through the Kenyan football community, as he aims to propel Marafiki FC to Division One and revive his career after a period of inconsistency.

Adisa, known for his knack for leading clubs to promotions, has achieved a remarkable feat that few players can boast of – he has led three different clubs to promotion.

The Kwale native previously played a pivotal role in guiding KCB, Nakumatt FC, and Bidco to coveted places in the top tier league.

Remarkably, Adisa's contributions went largely unrecognized until 2019 when he was finally included in the squad of home-based players representing Harambee Stars in two build-up matches against South Sudan and Tanzania.

Despite his immense potential, inconsistency has plagued his career, potentially denying him earlier opportunities to represent the national team.

However, at the age of 35, many coaches still believe that there is some talent left within Adisa.

He was even named in the provisional squad for Kenya in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt and Togo, a testament to the faith coaches have in his abilities.

Reflecting on his career, Adisa fondly recalled his time with KCB, where he played a pivotal role in their return to the top division after a period in the National Super League (NSL).

"My opportunity to play regularly in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) came when I was with KCB, having just returned to the KPL. I believed then that I was among the top six goalkeepers in the country, going by the number of clean sheets I kept," he asserted in a apast interview.

Despite his impressive displays for KCB, Adisa later moved on to Mount Kenya United and Bidco FC.

His time at Wazito FC in September 2021 ended under unclear circumstances, leaving many wondering about the twists and turns of his career.

Many remember him for his displays on March 13, 2021, when Adisa truly demonstrated his qualities as Kenya triumphed over South Sudan in a friendly match

This performance highlighted his potential as a reliable shot-stopper and rekindled hopes of earning the faith of national team coaches.

On a personal level, Adisa is not just focused on his football career. He is a man of diverse interests, dabbling in various business ventures, including running a clothing and shoes stall.

With a wealth of experience and newfound determination, he aspires to bring consistency to his game and prove his worth to the national team coaches.

Marafiki FC, who have narrowly missed out on promotion for the past two seasons, are eager to leverage Adisa's experience and leadership to secure their place in Division One.

His signing marks a significant step in the club's journey toward achieving their promotion goals.
