Ruben Amorim has shared why he believes Bruno Fernandes will stay at Manchester United despite Al-Hilal's interest.

Bruno Fernandes is a highly sought-after player, but Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim believes the captain will remain loyal and remain at Old Trafford despite the current struggles.

Bruno Fernandes has been eyed by Al-Hilal for some time now, and the club has stepped up their attempts in their bid to sign him.

It would be highly likely that Bruno Fernandes would seek a new home after Manchester United’s worst Premier League season, following their distant 15th-place finish on the table with just 42 points.

However, Ruben Amorim has a different thought concerning Bruno Fernandes’ decision during this transfer window period.

Speaking to the press after Manchester United’s match against Hong Kong, Ruben Amorim revealed that something deep inside tells him that Bruno Fernandes will not be going anywhere this season.

Ruben Amorim revealed that Bruno Fernandes is one of Manchester United’s best players and admitted that they have failed him, not once or twice, but believes that the star wants to stay at Old Trafford and spend more time there.

"I don't think so, I don't know for sure. Nobody knows, but I don't think so. I think he is seeing us taking some actions to change all the things, and I think he saw that, and I think he wants to stay,” Amorim said as quoted by Sports Mole.

"He is saying no to a lot of things, but he shows he wants to win. He's really young, he's really good, he needs to be in the best league in the world."

Ruben Amorim insisted that they will find other avenues to make money since selling Bruno Fernandes is not a good decision as things stand.

He added that, being the manager, he has to think critically to evade their financial crisis rather than just thinking of selling players.

Ruben Amorim further pointed out that Bruno Fernandes has been frustrated this season and threatened to leave, but every time they have a conversation, the tune changes.

"Yes, we can find another way to earn money. Of course, I'm the manager, I'm the coach, but sometimes it's the decision of the player. But of course, I talk with him, I explain things. I just have that feeling if he wants to stay,” he added.

"Of course, in a lot of games this season, he was so frustrated, but he knows what we are doing. The feeling is that every time I speak with him, he wants to continue at Manchester United, but you never know."

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes signed with Manchester United in 2020. He was signed for an initial €55 million (£47 million), becoming the second-highest fee for a Portuguese player leaving the domestic league at the time.
