APS Bomet aim for a strong finish in the National Super League as promotion to the FKF Premier League beckons.

National Super League side Administration Police Service (APS) Bomet are on the verge of securing a historic promotion to the FKF Premier League, needing just three points from their final four matches to seal the deal.

Currently sitting second on the log with 58 points, APS Bomet are trailing league leaders Nairobi United by eight points.

Nairobi United have already secured automatic promotion with 66 points, leaving APS Bomet poised to clinch the second direct slot if they manage a single win.

APS Bomet kick off their decisive run-in with a stern test against Kibera Black Stars this Sunday.

Despite the low requirement to confirm promotion, coach Evans Mafuta insists there’s no room for complacency.

“The game against Kibera Black Stars will not be a walk in the park. Black Stars are also in the mix for a play-off slot. It will be a tough encounter. However, we are out for a win to confirm our qualification. I’m optimistic that we shall qualify for the top-tier league,” noted Mafuta as per The Star.

Crucial Clashes Ahead

The remaining fixtures for APS Bomet include two home ties against Nzoia Sugar and SS Assad, and an away clash with Mully Children’s Family.

The side heads into the final stretch with renewed confidence after a commanding 4-0 win over Kisumu All Stars last weekend at Bomet Stadium.

That win marked a return to form for Mafuta’s side, who had endured a brief slump in performance prior. Kisumu had been on a decent run themselves before the loss.

“Kisumu were on a good run, but the boys put in an extra effort to win,” added Mafuta, who has been with the team from the start of the season.

Play-off Race Heats Up

While APS Bomet have a firm grip on second place, the battle for the third-place promotion play-off slot remains intense.

Naivas, Darajani Gogo, Fortune Sacco and Kibera Black Stars are all still in contention.

Darajani Gogo, coached by Paul Ogai, face a challenging trip to Bungoma to play an in-form Nzoia Sugar.

Fortune Sacco will look to stay in the race as they host Mombasa United at Kianyaga Stadium. Elsewhere, MOFA face Vihiga United, and MCF will clash with 3K FC in Machakos.

In other fixtures, Samwest Blackboots take on Migori Youth, while SS Assad host Mombasa Stars in a coast derby at Ukunda showground.

Luanda Villa will welcome neighbours Kisumu All Stars at Mumboha grounds in a Western derby.
