Kenyan defender Clyde Senaji has extended his stay with Nyasa Big Bullets after a quadruple-winning season.

Kenya international Clyde Senaji has officially inked a new contract, securing his stay with Malawian giants Nyasa Big Bullets until February 2026.

The announcement follows Senaji's stellar performance throughout the 2023 season, where he played a pivotal role in the team's historic quadruple-winning campaign.

Senaji, 27, who joined Nyasa Big Bullets at the onset of the 2023 season, showcased his prowess in the FDH Bank Cup, TNM Super League, Castel Challenge Cup, and the Airtel Top 8, contributing to the club's unprecedented success in securing all four titles.

His presence was also felt in the CAF Champions League, where he played a crucial role in all four matches during the 2023 campaign.

With his initial contract set to expire next month, Senaji's decision to extend his stay was fueled by both professional and personal factors.

The centre back expressed his satisfaction with the team's achievements, stating, “It was an easy decision for me to make to stay here because I had a good season here in Malawi where we won everything."

Senaji emphasized the strong bond he shares with the Malawian community and everyone associated with the club as instrumental in persuading him to commit to a two-year extension.

Known for his openness to new challenges, Senaji highlighted that his usual one-year stints with previous clubs were surpassed by the unique allure of Nyasa Big Bullets.

“I am a person who is open to new ideas, and that’s why I would only stay for a year at my previous clubs, but I thought it wise to continue my chapter here with The People’s Team,” he explained.

Senaji eagerly anticipates the upcoming 2024 season, acknowledging the tough challenges that lie ahead.

He urged the team to prepare meticulously to handle the pressure from competitors keen on challenging their dominance.

Senaji is the fourth player to pledge his future to Kalisto Pasuwa’s side, following contract extensions by Ephraim Kondowe, Anthony Mfune, and Precious Phiri, who have committed to The People’s Team until 2027.

Before making his mark with Nyasa Big Bullets, Senaji showcased his talents with various notable clubs, including Vihiga United, Tusker FC, and AFC Leopards.
