Luke Shaw cut a morose figure as he gave his post-match interviews after losing.
Luke Shaw admitted Manchester United's players must consider leaving as he issued a dejected apology to the club's fans after their Europa League final defeat.
The stalwart said the squad must take responsibility for the failure and not shy away from what has been the club's worst season since their relegation in 1973-74 according to the Daily Mail.

United's hopes of salvaging their campaign were crushed in Bilbao on Wednesday night as Tottenham beat them 1-0 to lift a first trophy in 17 years. Brennan Johnson's scrappy first-half goal - which Shaw failed to prevent - condemned United to a first season without European football since 2014-15.
What Luke Shaw said
)
"We're very sorry for what they have had to go through this season. Like I said, it's been nowhere near good enough, and I can only apologise for that," the England international smaintained.
"I think we have to look at the positives and the only positive is that we can only go up from here. We're rock bottom now and we have to find the way to drag ourselves back.
"I can say 100 per cent right now that [Ruben Amorim] is the right man. I know results have not been good at all.
"I've been here for a long time now and I've been through different managers but Ruben, for me, I talk on my behalf and I'm sure I can talk on behalf of all the players, Ruben is 100 per cent the right manager to take us back where this club should be."
But the left-back had almost equalised with a header in the dying moments of the game, but for a save from Guglielmo Vicario.
He added to TNT Sports: "The worst it possibly can. It's so damaging. Obviously not just tonight but we know how big it what for the future, the things that come with winning the Europa League, the Champions League for next season, a lot."
Amorim's future in doubt?
)
Amorim has offered to leave the Red Devils without compensation after presiding over a woeful campaign.
While this was their first European loss of the campaign, United sit 16th in the Premier League and have only won around a quarter of their domestic games under the Portuguese.
Captain Bruno Fernandes has also offered to leave if the club want to 'cash in' on.
It emerged earlier this month that Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are prepared to break the British transfer record and pay Fernandes close to £200million over a three-year contract following talks with his representatives.
