Oduor has had a season to forget with Barnsley.

After enduring a nightmare campaign, Kenyan defender Clarke Oduor is set to part ways with English Football League (EFL) League One side Barnsley at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old's contract is set to expire in June 2023, with the club reported not to be interested in signing a new deal as the left-back has featured sparingly for Barnsley this season.

Oduor was shipped out on loan in the first half of the season to League Two side Hartlepool United but returned to his parent club after also failing to get more game time under his belt.

The former Leeds United defender is reported to be among six players who will leave the club in the summer transfer window, including Jasper Moon, Jordan Helliwell, Luke Thomas, Aiden Marsh, and James Norwood.

"Unfortunately for Oduor, he hasn't been able to win as much game time as he would have wanted during his time in South Yorkshire.

Joining on a four-year deal back in 2019, he has made just 57 competitive appearances for the Tykes and although he will always be adored for his late goal against Brentford to keep the club afloat in the second tier back in 2020, it feels as though his time at Oakwell is coming to an end.

Spending the first half of this term at Hartlepool United, he is now back with the Tykes but hasn't made an appearance since his return," read an article from Football League World.

Oduor is known for his versatility as he can be deployed as a winger on either flank or as a left-back, left wing-back, or left-sided forward and possesses pace, incisive footwork, and an ability to both defend and attack.

The defender has already featured for Harambee Stars as he came on as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 win over Zambia in a friendly back in October 2020 and made a goal-line clearance to preserve Kenya's victory.
