Sha’Carri Richardson received a special message from the Dallas Mavericks CEO which left her gushing as she continues to enjoy plenty of love from her hometown.

World 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson continues to receive affection across her hometown of Dallas with Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynthia Marshall the latest to laud her for her achievements.

Just a day after having a track at the John Kincaide Stadium in South Dallas named the Sha'Carri Richardson Track and November 10 called ‘Sha'Carri Richardson Day’ in Dallas, she visited NBA side Dallas Mavericks where she received a special message from the franchise’s boss.

Richardson was at the American Airlines Center to support the Dallas Mavericks during their NBA match against the Los Angeles Clippers and also met the players and Marshall.

“You don’t know how proud of you we are. We are so proud of you. We are proud of your accomplishments, and how you handle your business,” Marshall told the sprint queen before the two embraced.

The two enjoyed each other’s company with Marshall holding the runner’s gold medal won at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

“It was a pleasure meeting Sha’Carri last night. She is amazing. I held a gold medal. Much bigger than the ones I touched as a kid,” Marshall later posted on social media.

These words melted the 23-year-old’s heart and made her emotional somewhat. “Thank you for the love,” replied Richardson.

This season, the reigning world 100m champion only lost two 100m races, at the Gyulai István Memorial where she finished second, and the Prefontaine Classic where she finished fourth.

She also won bronze in 200m and gold in the 4x100m relay at the World Championships and will be hot favourite for 100m gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Her successful season has seen her lauded as a great example to young girls not just in Dallas but in the United States, after overcoming adversity to triumph on the global stage.
