Noah Lyles and Kenny Bednarek are among the athletes who have complained about the hiked prices of flights and accommodation ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the USTAF Olympic trials.

With the USTAF Olympic trials and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games fast approaching, triple world champion Noah Lyles and Olympic Games silver medallist Kenny Bednarek are not happy with the high costs of flights and accommodation.

When such huge events are held, the prices are most likely to go up and considering the Olympics are being held in a European country, it becomes a challenge due to the increased prices.

As athletes, they also have to get secured places to stay for security purposes, not overlooking the treatment they would receive.

Bednarek shared his concerns, complaining that the cost of flights and accommodation to the Paris 2024 Olympics and the trials were high.

In a tweet, he said: “The cost to fly and accommodate my team at the trials and Olympics is pretty wild. Prices are jacked up.”

Responding to his tweet, two-time world 200m champion Lyles also noted that the issue of prices is everywhere. He said: “It’s hard for all of us man.”

Bednarek added another tweet saying: “It’s crazy because that’s when we need our entire support system the most.”

Another X user added a comment saying: “Kenny it’s even worse for the average American that doesn’t have the God-given talent like you and Noah do.”

Eric Deadmon commented: “Someone explain to me how it's gonna cost me $2500 to go to the trials in Oregon and $3,500 for Paris. Why is the trip to Paris only $1,000 more than Eugene? God, I hate Eugene.”

The Director of Pro and Elite athletes at the Sports Academy, Mo Wells, noted that he understands the hiked prices but insisted that at least the stadium at the event looks good.

“To not live like a termite at Olympic Trials, it costs in between 5-10k which is insane. Especially for unsponsored athletes. (car, flight, hotel/ BNB, food, medical, coach). But hey, at least the stadium is nice,” he said.
