Ferdinand Omanyala, Africa's fastest man, has expressed gratitude for the birthday wishes he received and is focusing on achieving Olympic success in the upcoming season.

Africa's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala celebrated his 28th birthday on Tuesday, receiving an outpouring of love and support from fellow athletes, sponsors, and fans worldwide.

Omanyala, who has become a household name in athletics, took to social media to express his gratitude and share his aspirations for the upcoming season, notably his quest for Olympic glory in Paris.

"Wow! I received so many birthday messages yesterday, and not a single one of them was teasing me about my age. Y’all are the best!," Omanyala posted, reflecting the positive spirit that has endeared him to many.

His message was a blend of humility and excitement, as he added, "Thank you all for making me feel like royalty on my birthday! Every single birthday wish was special to me."

As he turns a year older, Omanyala's focus is unwavering. After a season marked by a mix of triumphs and setbacks, including a seventh-place finish at the World Championships, he is gearing up for what could be the most defining year of his career.

"As we get older, birthdays tend to attract less attention, so I just wanted to thank those for remembering me on that very special day of mine and sending me those sweet wishes!" he acknowledged.

The Kenyan sprint sensation has already charted a course for the 2024 season, with a schedule designed to build up to the Paris Olympics.

His journey will begin with the World Indoor Tour, leading to the World Indoor Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

This will be followed by participation in the Diamond League, setting the stage for the much-anticipated Olympic Games.

"It means a lot to me that you all took the time from your busy lives to wish me a happy birthday," Omanyala expressed in his post.

"Thank you to all my friends for the wishes, gifts, laughs, weird birthday jokes, and everything," he concluded, highlighting the personal connections that fuel his drive.
