Ferdinand Omanyala's journey at the World Athletics Championships has been marked by significant challenges and a steady progression toward establishing himself as a global contender.

His first World Championships appearance in 2022 was overshadowed by visa issues. He arrived in Eugene, Oregon, just a few hours before his first-round heat.

Despite the difficult circumstances, he competed but was eliminated in the semifinals, finishing 13th overall with a time of 10.14 seconds.

The visa problems created a major hurdle and likely impacted his performance, preventing him from showcasing his full potential at the time.

In 2023, Ferdinand Omanyala made a notable improvement, reaching the final of the men's 100m in Budapest. He finished in seventh place with a time of 10.07 seconds. This was a significant step forward from his 2022 experience, demonstrating his ability to compete against the world's best and advance through the rounds to the final.

Having overcome past challenges and steadily improved his performance on the world stage, Ferdinand Omanyala is now focused on the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Ferdinand Omanyala has been named to Kenya's provisional squad for the event. His preparation for the 2025 season has included competing in various international races, such as the ASA Grand Prix in South Africa and the Kip Keino Classic, where he finished third.

He also played a key role in the men's 4x100m relay team that secured a historic qualification for Kenya at the World Relays in Guangzhou, China.

However, a current injury setback will slow down his training, but being under the care of experts in Miramas, there is no doubt that he will be ready and up to the task when that time comes.

From the visa issues in 2022 to a solid final appearance in 2023, he is now setting his sights on achieving further success and redemption at the 2025 World Championships.
