Ferdinand Omanyala is determined to bounce back with four major races lined up after a disappointing Kip Keino finish.
Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, has bounced back from his third-place finish at the sixth edition of the Kip Keino Classic and is focusing on his next assignment.
Heading into the Kip Keino Classic, Ferdinand Omanyala was a favourite to win because he was competing on home turf, but ended up finishing third behind youngsters Bayanda Walaza and Lachlan Kennedy.
Lachlan Kennedy dipped below 10 seconds, crossing the finish line in a personal best time of 9.98 seconds, with Walaza coming in second in 10.03 seconds. The reigning Commonwealth Games champion, Ferdinand Omanyala, sealed the podium in a time of 10.07 seconds.

In the 2024 edition of the Kip Keino Classic at the Nyayo National Stadium, Ferdinand Omanyala finished in distant fifth as Kenny Bednarek carried the day.
Ferdinand Omanyala extended a hand of gratitude to the fans for always showing up, adding that the support was massive and he felt every inch of it throughout the race.

Ferdinand Omanyala started 2025 by skipping the indoor tour. He kick-started his outdoor campaign at the Thika Stadium before flying to South Africa for two competitions in which he finished third and first, respectively.
