Damian McGrath's men must win all their games on Day 2 to put more points on board.

Kenya 7s free fall in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series was exacerbated by a 33-17 loss to Uruguay to see them finish rock bottom in Pool C after losing all their games in the Singapore Sevens

Shujaa had another feisty start to the game with Herman Humwa intercepting a pass from his own 22-meter line and showed a clean pair of heels to land the game’s first try but Tony Omondi missed the kick.

Kevin Wekesa was sent to the sin bin with Uruguay capitalizing on the man advantage as Arcos Perez finished off a well-worked move from a scrum with Guillermo Lijtenstein adding the extras.

Uruguay were again on the mark when Guillermo Lijtenstein escaped a tackle from Edmond Anya to cross the whitewash but he failed to convert his own try to lead 12-5.

Shujaa went into the break level as Brian Tanga who has been one of the shining lights in an otherwise dark tournament for Kenya sold a brilliant dummy to race to the try line with Omondi nailing the conversion this time to level the scores at halftime.

Uruguay had a mirror start to the second half as that man again Arcos Perez grabbed his brace after going the short side from a scrum with Kenya having no cover on the blind side as Lijtenstein added the extras.

Shujaa were their own undoing as a counter ruck from their try line resulted in Tomás Etcheverry bagging a simple try from centimeters out as Ignacio Alvarez converted the try.

Uruguay were not done yet as they registered another try courtesy of an acrobatic finish from Mateo Viñals who brilliantly fended off a tackle from Anya to stay within touch.

Alvin Otieno however put some respect on the scoreline with a trademark finish on the left channel after leaving one of the Uruguay defenders for dead as Kenya lost 33-17.
