The Lionesses beat Madagascar 29-20 but the coach was not entirely convinced with some aspects of their performance.
Kenya Lionesses head coach Dennis “Ironman” Mwanja believes his charges can improve in certain aspects despite beating hosts Madagascar 29-20 in their Rugby Africa Women’s Cup First division clash in Antananarivo on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts went 3-0 up through a penalty but Grace Adhiambo landed twice for a 10-3 lead before referee Precious Pazani awarded the Lionesses a penalty try following repeated Madagascar infringements.
The hosts began the second half on a high, landing a converted try for a 17-10 score.Judith Auma landed an unconverted try to put the Lionesses 22-10 up but Madagascar refused to go away,scoring to make it 22-15.

The women's national rugby 15s side will be taking on Madagascar, South Africa and Burkina Faso.
Natasha Emali’s big carry created the opportunity for Auma to land her brace, Anne Goretti converting for 29-15.
“Winning against Madagascar at home is commendable for the girls,” he said, “we got into the game, hit the ground running and got into the game early enough,” he added.
“We took our chances early in the game but we gave ourselves unnecessary pressure when we were not moving up to defend. We gave them too much time to throw the ball across end to end and gave them a hard time tracking them instead of just going up and angling, squaring and tackling them. It is an area we need to work on.
