Muteti was selected to represent the country at the World Championships in July.

Olympian Emily Muteti is training hard ahead of the busy season as she bids to make the cut to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Muteti was selected to represent the country at the FINA World Championships set for Friday, July 14 to Sunday, July 30.

This was after her impressive exploits during the national trials held at the Kasarani Aquatic Center over the weekend.

“Definitely everyone wants to make it to the Paris Olympics next year so we have to work harder,” Muteti told Nation Sport.

She added that she will be keen to intensify her preparations ahead of the global event where she wants to leave a mark.

“This is definitely something to look forward to. I have to keep training and stay focused ahead of the event,” she said.

On his part, Michael Otieno, the chairman of the Kenya Swimming Federation Stabilisation Committee said they are keen on getting the federation back.

“If they can agree and sort out their differences and put the swimmers as the number one shareholder, then we shall have elections done and put swimming on the right path,” he said.

Meanwhile, athletes to represent the country at the Youth Commonwealth Games in August and World Junior Championships in September were also selected.
