Defending champions ended the regular season unbeaten.

Kabras Sugar head coach Carlos Katywa has attested that the Kenya Cup final against Kenya Commercial Bank on Saturday, March 11 comes as one of the most challenging matches in his coaching career.

The defending champions on Saturday, March 4 defeated Kenya Harlequins 22-8 to secure a direct ticket to the final where they are set to face-off with the bankers. KCB, on their part, shocked Menengai Oilers 38-20.

“This is the biggest pressure game of my coaching experience. I must admit that this final is a different one. It’s not going to be easy,” he said.

Kabras ended the season unbeaten and they lead the table standings with 52 points after 11 games. KCB also sit second with 51 points after winning 10 of their matches and losing only one, to Kabras.

Katywa noted that KCB facing them after their previous defeat is something to be keen on as they prepare to defend their title. Kabras defeated KCB 29-23 on February 18 at the KCB Sports Club.

“KCB is coming here after we beat them…that is why we need to keep training hard,” he noted.

Speaking on the overall outlook of the season, Katywa lauded the team for their hard work. He noted that they have achieved almost all their goals.

“It has been a fabulous season…the boys have really tried to make it perfect and that has seen us achieve most of our goals. We are not yet there though,” he said.
