“Receiving a call is one thing, and getting play time is another. I would love to be in the first 11 team that would represent the country in these competitions,” Daniel Sakari said as quoted by Capital Sport.

Harambee Stars are set to play in the CECAFA Four Nations Cup in Tanzania from July 24 to 27 as they gear up for CHAN.

After the tournament, Benni McCarthy will then select his final squad, and Daniel Sakari hopes to make the cut.

Daniel Sakari pointed out that since his first national team call-up in 2019, he has always put in the work and remained consistent, and he has his fingers crossed that CHAN will also be another opportunity for him to showcase his talent.

CHAN showcases players from domestic leagues, providing a major platform for homegrown talent to stand out.

“I will just do me, stay focused, work hard, hope that I do not suffer any injuries and hopefully make it to the starting team. Through it all, he always stays focused and always has his eyes on the prize,” the former Tusker FC right back said.

Harambee Stars will kick off their campaign against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on August 3 at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

They will then face Angola on August 7, Morocco on August 10, and Zambia on August 13, with all the Group A fixtures set to take place at the same venue.
