Apart from financial rewards, the government will also provide special travel arrangements.

Tanzania President Samia Suluhu has promised that each goal scored by Yanga SC in the CAF Confederation Cup final will attract $8,500, equivalent to Ksh1,168,325.00.

Timu ya Wananchi made it to the ultimate stage of the continental competition after beating South Africa’s Premier Soccer League side Marumo Gallants home and away.

The first leg in Dar es Salaam had ended 2-0 in favour of the Tanzanian giants before they eased to a 2-1 victory at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday.

The 4-1 aggregate win meant the Mainland Premier League champions secured a place in the two-legged final, where they are set to face USM Alger of Algeria.

The Algerian outfit saw off ASEC Mimosas from Ivory Coast by a margin of 2-0 to book a date with Yanga.

Now, the Kariakoo heavyweights have more reasons to work even harder and score more goals against their North African rivals.

The head of state made the promise to reward the team for each goal they score, and on top of that, the government will provide a special plane to carry the team to and from Algeria for the continental duty.

Given the fact that they are champions of their own league, Yanga are already motivated enough to face USM Alger.

Timu ya Wananchi has looked sharp in front of goal and is likely to score many goals against USM Alger. A striking department led by Fiston Mayele, Aziz Ki, Kennedy Musonda, and Tuisila Kisinda is lethal enough to trouble any opponent.

Against Marumo Gallants, head coach Nasreddine Nabi opted to start with Musonda, Kisinda, and Mayele before Ki came on later in the second half.

Musonda and Mayele scored the two goals that all but sealed a place in the final for Yanga before Gallants struck late to deny them a semi-final clean sheet.

In the last five games, Yanga have scored 10 goals across all competitions.
